Hi , I'm Emma. A married mum of one. had my daughter at the end of 2022 who you can see featured in my photo to the left.
I had done some training on sleep hygiene in my job as a Child Health Assistant within Health Visiting but after welcoming Sadie I did not realise how her sleep would overtake my life. It was then I really understood how important sleep really was. It was impacting my relationships with others, the ability to undertake daily tasks and my mental health. We were exhausted those first few months that it. Once the new born stage was over I really struggled to figure out when Sadie was supposed to nap, how long for and how long she should be awake for between each nap. I relied on my 'mum' friends to guide me through it all. It was then I realised how complicated infant sleep was! I became obsessed with infant sleep and I was so interested in learning more so I decided to complete my sleep consultant training. I have a BA/ BSc Health and Social Care - Children, Young Adults and Families Degree. I have many years of experience working with families so I thought it was the perfect thing for me to do, especially as I am currently experiencing the sleep changes with my daughter. I look forward to supporting all the wonderful families who are in desperate need for sleep.
